As the 2026 season winds down…

Good afternoon MCF members and supporters,

As we inch closer to closing the 2026 race season, the MCF begins to turn its attention to 2027.

There is a lot of really positive momentum going into 2027 that we can all really be proud of. For that reason, please be on the lookout for 2 in-person gatherings, one in November and one in January to celebrate. The November meeting will be a 2026 recap and 2027 strategy update. January will be the end of year party, celebrating racers, teams and promoters. More to come on both.

If I’ve learned anything over the past 6 months as board president it’s truly this: many hands make for light work. I am so grateful to all who volunteered this year at the crits, at cyclocross races, by posting on social media, and advocating for bicycle racing. Thank you for all your hard work.

However, we are in need for 2027. The MCF Board changes leadership every 2 years, and the Vice President position and Treasurer positions are up for election. Dustin Bowman and Eric Hoffman of Gray Duck Racing were instrumental in stabilizing the racing scene in Minnesota, and I want to thank them for their 2 years of service to the community. As they move into new roles next year, the community must nominate candidates for these positions over the next few weeks. Eric and Dustin will share more about their individual experiences at the November meeting, so if you’re interested in learning more, please attend. We will take nominees through the end of November, with an online election meeting December 15th.

Finally, the MCF is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. As the end of the calendar year approaches, please consider the MCF as a part of your year end charitable giving plans. The money goes a long way in providing the funds necessary to bankroll the crit series, the cyclocross series, the promoter insurance policies, the Bridge the Gap fund, and the Rider Advancement Fund. The link to donate is here: (https://www.mncyclingfederation.org/donations). Thank you in advance for your support.

Thank you for your participation in this organization and for helping keep bicycle racing alive in the state of Minnesota.

Sincerely,

Christopher Genco

President - MCF
